The Enemy of Action
Sometimes there are things in life that we really don't want to do – but know that we should.
Things that we need to deal with but would do almost anything to avoid. We’ve all been in that kind of situation, faced with that kind of dilemma, looking for a way around,
a way out.
The more we think about it, the harder it seems to get.
There is a solution.
When something needs to be done, then just do it.
Yes, those Nike advertising wizards were on the money. 'Just do it!' sold more trainers than any other slogan in the company's history. It's a concept that locks right in to the winning attitude.
Overthinking is the enemy of action. So just do it.
Of course it might be difficult. Of course you might get it wrong. Of course someone might criticize you. And of course you can do it!
You alone have the responsibility. You alone have control over your actions.
Accept that responsibility. Exercise that control. Take that action.
No excuses. Excuses are infantile. Excuses are for losers. And you are not a loser. That's right: despite your past, despite your fears, despite what anyone might have told you, you are not a loser.
Enough of the thinking. That won't get things done.
If it needs to be done then you're the one to do it. Be bold. Take action. And just do it.
"You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do"
— Carl Jung
