Start From Where You Are

So often I meet people who want to start at the finish line. People who seek to avoid the work needed to get to where they want to be.

Those who 'want it all yesterday' and try their hardest to skip the process that's really needed to actually develop themselves and make their dreams come true.

Perhaps it's understandable. In our fast-paced, instantized society, we've learned to spend so much of our life on 'the never-never', with its live-now pay-later philosophy. We've become accustomed to the instant delivery, the short cut, the all too ephemeral gratification of the quick fix.

Yet the truth is, we can only ever really start from where we are, not from where we'd like to be. And getting to where we want to be is a process that takes work.

Success, no matter how we measure it, doesn't really depend on our starting point. When we're truly ready to change for the better and move forward with our life, then just about any starting point is the right one. Success is not a function of our starting point, but of direction and persistence. No matter where you are or how far behind you feel you've fallen, you can choose to move forward right now.

Isn't now the time to rekindle your passion? Is there really any better time or place to start than right here and right now?

Anything is possible. Start from where you are. Put in the work, pay your dues and make it happen!
