The Time of Your Life

start

Have you noticed how, as we age, the clock seems to tick even faster, making the months and the years simply race by?

'I just don't have time', has become the mantra of our modern, fast-paced world, as we rush from one experience to the next, sometimes barely catching our breath.

There is nothing we can do to halt or arrest the inexorable march of time. Time will pass, regardless of our complaints, irrespective of our desires.

But time itself does not need to be the enemy. There are so many things we can do to reap the greatest benefit from the procession of moments that make up the story of our life.

We do not have forever. Do all you can with the time that has been given to you. Treat it as a precious gift – as precious as life itself.

Focus on being positive and productive. There is no need to dwell on your lack of time, or whether the time is speeding too quickly by. Be aware of it, and move steadily on.

Use your energy to do, and not to complain. Explore, experience, and push forward one step at a time. Only you can bring about the meaningful progress that needs to be made.

Be sure to pace yourself. Just as there is a time for doing, there is a time for being – times when you need to kick back and do nothing. Accept these times and enjoy them to the fullest.

Doing or being, time will pass at the speed it always has, and not at the speed we choose. Remember, though, that you alone choose how much energy and effort you invest into each moment, each hour, and each day.

This is your time now. Flow with it, and as time moves forward, so will you.

'You may delay, but time will not.'
– Benjamin Franklin
